i am the only one who knows. A day at sea, with the nothing to do, save for lounge and watch the nautical miles roll by. The is will be a two sitting kind of exercise as I have to get breakfast and my snorkel gear. The joy of getting to come back to this, is that I am not rushed trying to get my ideas out, HOWEVER, having a second run at this, may make me wordsmith and polish was is often a raw price into a gleaming pile of shite. Time will tell and there always is a second chance as I transfer this from off the grid to into the interwebs.
Round two, out in the sun, my belly is full and I am feeling feisty and ready to roll. the island of St Lucia is rolling past as we head out to see and the warm tropical sun is warming these winter bones, however I am not writing a travelogue today and the time to stop the filler may have arrived.
A couple of notions are rolling around in my head. The first, from a conversation I had last night deals with the question of GOD. In fact it centered Aron's one notion a and that is: one does not choose when and where one is born. That got me thinking that there are two possibilities. The first is that there is a GOD, GOD has a plan, and each of us in born into a role to fulfill that plan. If that is the case it is my job to live my life fully paying attention to what is going on. The second possibility is that it is all random chance, without rhyme or reason. In that case II my not have a part to fulfill, but how fully present and awake in my life, the better my chances of grasping those subtle opportunities to get what I want. Either way, living my life to fullest, including applying these principles in all my affairs, is the best option.
Yes I think the scenic route to get here. One of the greatest benefits of shared religion, is a moral code, shared by its members. The beauty of the year fellowship of choice is there is also a shared moral code, that does not require eternal rewards to enforce. That code is encapsulated in the 12TH Step and the spiritual principle that I have been grown into implementing in my life. The reading this morning enforces that idea, do the next right thing, even if NO ONE is watching. When I am accountable to no one but myself, I have placed. Great deal of responsibility on the strength of my program. Using the tools of the 10th step I can gauge how well I lived during the last 24 and what I need to improve upon in the next 24. Slicing my life into manageable chunks assists me in= doing my best to live the this program to all my affairs.
So back to the question -- was my birth is accident or part of a plan? Just for today it does not matter, as I plan on living my program without worry about who may be watching.

3) Hence the sage is able (in the same way) to accomplish his great
achievements. It is through his not making himself great that he can
accomplish them.
