👄 caring 👂

and listening to what is going on around me, feels the same as being present. if i am aware of what others are telling me and more importantly care about what they are saying, i am living in the present tense. some folks demand more from me than that, and depending on who they are, they may actually get what the are asking for, even though i may have no desire to give it to them. i am very “focused” when i am attending to a task and stopping what i am doing, to engage in conversation is not something that comes easy for me. that is where the caring part comes in. IF i care enough about having equal and loving relationships, some of the time i have to give up a bit of what i think i need, to get what i want.
what i have been doing poorly today, is listening to my body, as i have really gone a bit too far. now that my knee is starting to feel better, i think i can walk as fast as i am used to doing, even after spending forty minutes on the stationary bike. well my hamstring is telling me “now you are going to pay the price!” 😡 it is a good thing i have nothing i need to do, save for relax and enjoy a few cigars and some football.
there really is nothing much more for me to add. being present means i am listening and i am caring about what i am hearing and responding appropriately. i show i care be being present and i prove i heard what was said by being part of the conversation. time for me to get ready to roll and relax the day away, just for today.
