faith and my recovery

the funniest line in this morning's reading was that it is easy to get clean because we only HAVE TO DO IT ONCE. i know several addicts that are struggling to GET CLEAN because they simply keep choosing to use after 7 days, or 15 days or even 90 days of abstinence. then they complain about how hard it is to GET CLEAN once again!
the point that they are missing and that goes to the heart of the reading is that yes it is easy to GET CLEAN but the trick is how to STAY CLEAN even in early recovery. i know that the FAITH i needed in early recovery came from a POWER GREATER than ME which happened to be the addicts that went before me. i was determined that if these "lowlifes" could get and stay clean so could i! well now i is one of them! i stay clean bt listening to the reminders and suggestions that me fellow recovering addicts give me on how to STAY CLEAN one day at a time. i have a sponsor and i have worked a step or two and most of all i stay connected to a HIGHER POWER through daily prayer and meditation.
and you know what i do stay clean and i get to be a part of my life and the lives of those who love and care for me. and i do have the FAITHG that something greater than me can keep me clean as long as i let it!
