δ my experience tells me to follow up direct amends …

... with long-lasting changes in my attitudes and my behavior -- that is, with indirect amends. well, it has been a morning, i have to have some dental work done and am unwilling to consider making a decision on it today. it is a good thing that i do not have to, as i would hardly make a sane or even considered decisions in the mood i am in right now, at least with regards to my dental state of health. so i get to sit her and stew in my own juices about something i have no power over, i do everything and have done everything i can to keep my teeth clean and happy and yet i still get decay, in places that i cannot reach.
kind of like step work. it makes me healthier in those places i cannot reach with just living a program. the ninth step especially has allowed to me desire the changes in my behavior and attitudes that step work provides. so yes i can make an amend to myself and take care of my mouth, or i can ignore it and let my tooth rot away, or i can just sit still for a few dyas and let my heart come to the conclusion it needs to arrive at.
it is time to get some work done so off to the races and ionto the real world!
