∈ the only way out of the trouble i make for myself ∈

is through surrender to a the POWER that fuels my recovery. yet another HIGHER POWERED topic, and yet another day when i am feeling i am running late. the truth is i am not, as no one tells me i have to be anywhere at any certain time, and it is self-will that makes me want to be down in Broomfield by 7:30. needless to say, i more than likely will cut this short as i really, really want to get moving so i can get out of there this evening. anyhow, all of that aside, what i mostly heard when i listened this morning was that there is a way out of the messes i create. as hopeless as the situations i create may appear, IF I STAY CLEAN, there is always the chance that i can and will see the path out of the gloom and doom that surrounds me when i am in a pile of sh!t.
asking and listening for the answer, what a novel concept. i have been going on about this whole feeling my way through the THIRD STEP gig, i have been experiencing, what i have not been paying attention to, is the depth of the answers i am getting through my daily practice of STEP 11. that is so me, to be so focused on the minutia that i miss the big picture. so stepping back and looking at the BIG picture, i see myself getting what i need, the opportunity to get myself out of the mess i have created. that was all i asked for, and was asking for the past 30 days or so, and that is what i am getting. sure winning the POWER BALL would be nice, but for some odd reason, i feel more fulfilled working like a mad man instead. i know that after this first couple of weeks i will get a rhythm going, and i will be able to add back my physical workout routine as well as doing everything i want to do. however just for today, i am running behind my self-imposed schedule to it is off to the showers and into the world world once again.

☯ The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao ☯

THE TAO TEH KING, OR THE TAO AND ITS CHARACTERISTICS
by Lao-Tse
Translated by James Legge

Book 2

2) It is only by this moderation that there is effected an early return
(to man's normal state). That early return is what I call the repeated
accumulation of the attributes (of the Tao). With that repeated accumulation
of those attributes, there comes the subjugation (of every obstacle
to such return). Of this subjugation we know not what shall be the
limit; and when one knows not what the limit shall be, he may be the
ruler of a state.
