∞ adding value and meaning to my life ∞
posted: Sat, Mar 4, 2006 08:59:06 AM

so life is a process and not a random series of events? not rally the way i looked at things when i came to recovery and certainly not the way i think things should be run apparently. my sponsor and i chatted about this very issue the other evening as he told me that what i wanted to do is wake-up one day and have all the change in my life done -- you know go to sleep with my life looking one way and wake-up the next day with everything changed just to my liking -- a series of events. hew went on to explain that i NEED to participate in the process of change and the reading this morning implies that, the change process is just part of the overall process of life. WAHHHHHHHHHH!
now i am done whining, i guess the time has come for me to move into a bit of solution. so here i sit, unemployed, finishing off my new office, thinking about the spiritual principles in my life rather than assembling the last piece of furniture. i really do believe that i can do the footwork to succeed at this process of life as well as all the changes i am going through. and i really do believe that i have prepared long enough to move forward. i really have been asking for something more and then waiting for it to drop into my lap. well now i have to work at the something more and i am a bit nervous about making that leap of FAITH. so what does this have to do with using the steps to unlock the process of life? everything, i am applying some of the principles i have learned through the course of my step work to my life today. i can succeed and i can thrive IF I ALLOW myself to do so. so off to the assembly floor and let us see if i can follow the "sinmple"6; instructions provided.
