letting go
posted: Tue, Sep 7, 2004 04:22:59 AM

letting go of my resentments has never been easy, but it has become easier over time. i can rationalize and justify why i should let my anger from some perceived wrong fester into a resentment and even though i know intellectually that a resentment is not healthy for me, if i do not carry it how on earth will i ever get justice. and of course justice is the most important thing.
WRONG
if i had got justice i would not be here typing this blog this morning, i would be dead , in jail or clinically insane and locked up somewhere for the rest of my existence. i got MERCY when i got the chance to recover and have been living on MERCY ever since. i got a second chance regardless of how heinous my behaviors were.
so in the spirit of forgiveness, i need to allow myself to forgive those who may or may not have wronged me as i have been forgiven by those in my life and my HIGHER POWER. because the day will comwe when once again i too need to be forgiven again, and how will i be able to accept that forgiveness if my spirit is held down by the weight of the resentments i am carrying.
