...in a loving Higher Power that would guide me through the challenges of life. okay, i will not bore you with the details of my search for a HIGHER POWER, or better put my search for a working concept of a HIGHER POWER, that is ground i have covered more than once before, i will say that i am writing this without having meditated on the reading, i was a just for tomorrow kind of guy this morning and read the wrong entry before sitting down to allow myself time to get ready for the day through meditation.
so now that i am back in today, what do i hear from the reading? well it is true that although i lacked a working concept of a HIGHER POWER, when i arrived in the program, and it is also true that this concept has been reworked so many times, that much of my original apprehension about it has been eased and lifted and that today, having FAITH is not something that drives me to distraction, it just is PERIOD! that concept is more and more losing any human characteristic to explain its shape in my head i guess you might say that my HIGHER POWER is going through a "de-anthropomorphizing" process, as i become less and less dependent on making everything into some sort of human image. this in and of itself, is a sign of my growing FAITH, after all, as i remove human qualities, i remove the need to explain, what appears to be bad or unfortunate, is just what it is supposed to be, part of the human condition of living life on life’s terms. it also allows me the creative freedom to move beyond notions of predestination and being here for a purpose, and assigns more than a bit of randomness to life in general, which in my case in not a bad thing.
so how does that reconcile with some of the stuff that i have been taught, okay, i go into some sophistry here, like some of the more religious people that i have been exposed to need to, or i can just say, that when is say GOD’s will i mean with the energy flow of the POWER that is behind the life the universe and everything. when i pray, i may use the term GOD, just because i am to lazy to say THE POWER THAT KEEPS ME CLEAN AND PROVIDES FOR ALL MY NEEDS. most importantly when i speak of GOD or HIGHER POWER with other members or in meetings, i use the word GOD, to allow them the same creative freedom, that i have been allowed, namely to construct their own concept and develop a relationship within the context of their understanding, that i have been allowed to do.
i could get a whole lot more mystical and spiritual about the nature of that FORCE as i see it today, and how that FORCE is active in my life, but i have some things to do, miles to run and life to live, before i sleep tonight, and i have come to the time when i must move forward with me day, so i can accomplish what is on my plate this morning. this too, is a gift from that FORCE, that ENERGY, that HIGHER POWER or even that GOD, which offered me this path and guides my journey upon it. so off to the races i go!
