↔  FUN in RECOVERY??!!  ↔
posted: Thu, Feb 10, 2005 06:12:46 AM

of course there is no fun in recovery, all of my deepest fears came true after i got clean that i would be a joyless, serious, unoriginal zombie. NOT!
of course what i consider fun today is entirely different than what i considered fun back in the day, but that is okay. i have always had a problem with the examples presented in the JFT reading, just because they were and are outside of my experience, i do not live by an ocean so seeing dolphins frolic in the setting sun is not something i get to do very often, so it goes.
for that very reason i will do not list at length what i do for fun today, but i am happy finding joy and fun in activities that do not include obliterating my consciousness with mind or mood altering substances. what i have discovered, things that once bored me to tears are now part of what i consider fun and things that i used to think were fun now appear to be totally insane. i can enjoy whatever i happen to be doing in this moment and if i do not i can move on.
so yes, just for today I WILL HAVE FUN IN RECOVERY!
