👁 looking beyond 👁

what i see others doing, is not a bad topic for me to dive into this morning. case in point, i read a news story about influencers not get paid enough for what they do. of course where i went was why they feel they need to get paid at all, after all, what real value do they bring to the world through their “work.” after a bit of consideration, i came to the place where i see that i am envious of them, i want to get paid lots of money for doing very little. envy does not wear well on me, as it has caused many of my social issues, in days passed. does not mean i still do not go there, but i sure would like to get here less often.
after a hugely successful block party last night and five miles of pavement this morning, i am ready to call it a day and just enjoy a cigar and watch football. i am, however going to do a bit of training, before i hit the lounge mode this afternoon. i am dealing with a first world problem, trying to watch football, write this little exercise and update my laptop. certainly a whole lot of shaking going on. as i let go of what is happening externally and peek at what is going on, inside of me. i am more than a bit concerned about my job and the training i am doing is helping me feel a bit better about that. i have accepted that i cannot change anyone, if they are not open to changing anything about their life. for me, the time has come to look at what i do have, rather than being green with envy, based on what i think others may have or feel.
so i think it is time for me to stop trying to do so much and allow myself the freedom to be okay with how this day is going. my laundry is done, i almost have 14,000 steps, i am clean and i have an enjoyable afternoon of football ahead of me.

Book 2

2) There is always One who presides over the infliction death. He
who would inflict death in the room of him who so presides over it
may be described as hewing wood instead of a great carpenter. Seldom
is it that he who undertakes the hewing, instead of the great carpenter,
does not cut his own hands!
