🦓 social acceptability 🦈

does not equal recovery. for this addict that trope cannot be repeated often enough. it would be so easy, here in Dublin, to slip into a pub, buy a pack of cigarettes, a pint or three and go “native.” that just seems to be the manner in which the populace of Dublin appears to live. i know what i am seeing, is what the addict sees and that those “normal” Dubliners, who frequent the areas we are staying in, are far from the norm, after all Temple Bar is not known for its temperance movement. worse yet, none of locals would dispprove, it would be socially acceptable, but not very conducive to my spiritual fitness. i KNOW, what the end result would be and it may take a minute, but sooner or later, i will end up in a locked bathroom, with a needle in my arm. as dire as that may sound, that is where it always ends up for me. those who cannot remember their past are condemned to repeat it, and i DO remember.

Congrats on Eighteen (18) years of JFTs.

moving on, i haardly remember what came to the top of the stack this morning, but i do know that being kind, considerate and respectful of my fellow travelers was paramount on my mind as i was getting ready to hit the streets. on that note, it is time to get cleaned up for the evening's activities, you know to look as socially acceptable as i am today. 🤣

THE TAO TEH KING, OR THE TAO AND ITS CHARACTERISTICS

Book 2

1) (It is the way of the Tao) to act without (thinking of) acting;
to conduct affairs without (feeling the) trouble of them; to taste
without discerning any flavour; to consider what is small as great,
and a few as many; and to recompense injury with kindness.
