surrender
posted: Wed, Jun 23, 2004 05:40:33 AM

just for today i can surrender
although there seems little that i need to surrender today, it has been a topic that has been appropriate for the last couple of days
    things i need to surrender
  • that i have pieces of me that affect others, that it is not healthy to ignore
  • that i cannot fix anyone including myself
  • that whatever happens i can be okay
  • that the suffering i see is not my job to correct
each of these issues have been a part of my meditation lately and i seem to want to hold on to them.
all i can do is take care of myself, work my program and be present for those in my life
the rest will be resolved by powers greater than me

☯ The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao ☯

THE TAO TEH KING, OR THE TAO AND ITS CHARACTERISTICS
by Lao-Tse
Translated by James Legge

Book 1

3) A skilful (commander) strikes a decisive blow, and stops. He does
not dare (by continuing his operations) to assert and complete his
mastery. He will strike the blow, but will be on his guard against
being vain or boastful or arrogant in consequence of it. He strikes
it as a matter of necessity; he strikes it, but not from a wish for
mastery.
