lonely no more

isolation and withdrawal are symptoms of my disease. when i came to recovery i had systematically destroyed almost all of my friendships and was incapable of forming new ones for a variety of reasons revolving around my selfish and self-centered behaviors. some step work and some time clean has created the ability for me to form deep long term friendships with those in and out of the program. i no longer have to accept that i cannot or will not be a friend.
no longer to i have to believe the lie that i am unworthy or too broken to have friendships.
