μ to stay clean, i must remember that i am only one drug away from my past. μ

i stay grateful for the good times, but i cannot let them divert me from my continuing recovery in the fellowship that has saved my life. laissez le bon temps roulez, or as we say here in the states -- let the good times roll! yes the good times in recovery are wonderful, and yes i can see them as a trap to lull me into complacency, but in my experience, like everything else, this too shall pass. and when the good times come to a screeching halt, my maintenance program gets put to the test. how well i prepare during the good times directly effects how well i handle those times that are not so good.
yes, there it is once more; steps, meetings, sponsorship and using my sponsor. the recipe for continued recovery, at least for this addict. so the question is, am i doing what i need to do today? well i could always do more, but i do believe that i am living enough of the program today to stay clean today and to have the ability to make that choice again tomorrow. so off to the races with that thought in mind -- it is all about what i do about my recovery TODAY!
