when i used, i usually had an open mind when it came to finding ways and means to get more drugs. if i am willing to go to any lengths, follow directions, and stay open-minded...
... i can stay can learn to live a program of recovery. and part of living that program is to be responsible to my clients as well as my fellowship. i have been scrambling all morning to get caught up after nine days of service, and i may actually get it done before this day is over. be that as it may, when i came to recovery, i was incapable of having an open mind when it came to doing the things that i need to do to even stay clean, much less live a life of recovery. when it came to facing my fear of going to prison, i finally became just willing enough to start to recover, and since that day, i have stayed clean. it has not been some sort of cake walk, living a program often takes more than i think i have in me. as a result, i fall back into the ways of thinking that start with "there has to be an easier, softer way!"
well, for me this is the easier, softer way. a quick inventory, and i am once again unwilling to loose what i have gained, and as a consequence to keep what i have been given, it is necessary for this addict to follow the example of those who are doing this gig on a daily basis.
and part of that is to finish what i need to finish before running off to where i need to go, so ta-ta for now!
