ƒ IF i am willing to go to any lengths, follow direction ,

and stay open-minded, 1 can stay clean. this reading is one of my all-time favorites. it may just be euphoric recall, BUT i think i have always had a positive and warm reaction to this particular reading, even when i heard it for the first time in treatment, in what feels like a life time ago.
of course, i could chime in with the chorus, as this refrain is one that is more than just a little familiar to me. the idea behind this reading is one of the BASIC tenets of how this gig works, and has been drilled into me since i first got clean, sometimes with more than ludicrous examples, like something about a peanut, fishnet stockings and Main Street.
their point being way back then, was that i had to become willing to do ANYTHING that my sponsor suggested, because that was how he did it. time and experience may have added some complexity and depth to my life, but it has yet to change the salient fact that IF i want to stay clean, i HAVE TO do what the others that have walked before have done. i STILL take direction from my sponsor, but now there is a caveat, i give it whirl, using the same three time rule that i once used to decide if a substance should remain in my pharmacopoeia, and then decide if i want to implement it as a permanent part of my daily program.
anyhow, there is not much more i can say about this, BUT JUST DO IT!
off to the streets to get a run in, before my home group meeting

Book 1

1) To him who holds in his hands the Great Image (of the invisible

but (find) rest, peace, and the feeling of ease.
