๐ my recovery ๐

one symptom of that growth is my desire to step out of a decades old pattern and choose a different piece of fellowship literature to create my spiritual frame of the day. it is true that most of this desire comes from not wanting to repeat myself or the topic really is one of those that does not immediately fill me with the desire to explore. the fact that i substitute rather than eliminate speaks to my commitment to my process and my daily recovery routine. it is a symptom of my evolution and i am glad that i can enjoy the depots of what is offered, rather than “phoning” it in. each day in my recovery may or may not offer an opportunity for me to grow. what each day does offer, however, is the opportunities i get everything that i need to get to live a life in recovery. my single most important task on any given day, is to be awake, alert and present to exercise the opportunities that come my way.
living a life in active recovery is often not very comfortable, in fact, at times it is downright painful. those moments are often where the growth occurs for me, as i evolve beyond that pain. coming to terms with my new reality is not the easiest thing i have ever done, but my path forward is becoming more clear. just for today, i will do my best to be present for the opportunity to evolve into the person i never thought i could be.
