μ when i decide to serve my fellowship, i make a decision to help addicts find and maintain recovery. μ

i have to carefully check my motives in service, remembering that it is much easier to frighten away using addicts than to convince them to stay. honestly, i have participated in all of those behaviors, after all, the politics of serving my fellowship is the same as the politics that run this country, or is it? being human, that is the conclusion i will jump to nine times out of ten, however, being a member of a spiritual organization, i do have to adhere to a higher standard, where those activities are inappropriate. so as i continue to grow, and accumulate some clean time, it is my responsibility to express my opinion, explain it to the best of my ability, and participate in the formation of the conscience of the service body, as spiritually as possible. dang it! so checking my motives is an ongoing process, and one that i am learning on a day by day basis. it is after all up to me to do the best i can do to be a part of the solution and not a part of the problem. so TA-TA for now, off to face reality!
