∞ priorities ∞

∞ i have an ex-sponsee who once asked me if he put GOD in front of recovery would he lose GOD. i had to think about this for a moment and then answered that GOD was part of my recovery and if i put recovery first then GOD was there too!
the whole point of this digression is that i often believe that certain things and activities need to come before what i need to do on a daily basis to stay clean. i NEED to sleep in those extra 15 minutes, so i do not have time to meditate, i am SO TIRED i do not have time to write my nightly inventory before falling asleep, i NEED to play a computer game for an extra hour so i cannot attend a meeting, i have to go shopping so i cannot call my sponsor.
all of these silly activities that i perceive as NEEDS are the start down the slippery slope of relapse from which i may never return. i know this sounds extreme, but i have seen it happen time and time again with both newcomers and oldtimers and i do not want it to happen to me.
so for me, for today, i will make RECOVERY my first and foremost priority and let everything else fall into place from there.
