**the therapeutic value of one addict helping another,** i must learn to listen actively. quite a nice break for me from the constant barrage of HP readings, although as this morning progresses i need to discover how my sponsor is doing. well, now i know he is going to be okay for right now, but is sleeping, so i will give a call later.
of course, i can take this reading and turn it into another HP topic without any effort at all. after all, part of my belief system is that those with whom i share recovery with, are the vehicles for what i need to hear. so in a real sense, they are the voice of my HIGHER POWER. i have absolutely no issue with that last statement, and a direct result of such an assertion is that my job becomes to listen and actually hear what is being said to me. when i allow myself to be distracted by the idle chatter of my internal conversation, it is quite possible that i am missing something crucial to my ongoing recovery process. this task now becomes doubly important, at least for me. this morning, however i am more than a bit distracted, so i will close with this thought:

HAPPY 6th ANNIVERSARY of your CLEAN DATE LINDA L
YOU ARE A VITAL PART OF THE COMMUNICATION FROM MY HIGHER POWER!
THANK YOU FOR BEING PART OF MY LIFE

Book 2

1) The people do not fear death; to what purpose is it to (try to)
frighten them with death? If the people were always in awe of death,
and I could always seize those who do wrong, and put them to death,
who would dare to do wrong?
