active listening

do i really actively listen when others are sharing? it depends! which of course is not the spiritual answer. i do my best to do this by turning to face the person sharing and shutting down the internal conversation, and opening my mind. i wish that i could say that i was able to do this 100 percent of the time, but alas i am only human.
when working with sponsees, i apply the same procedure, and have better success.
does this mean that i am some kind of uncaring monster? NO! it just means that my listening tools need a bit more practice. i can learn to most anything and you know just for today i will reapply myself to working with my active listening tools.
