∴ a negative outlook can hurt my relationship with a Higher Power and the people in my life ∴

when i am honest with myself, i frequently find that the problem lies with me and my attitude. so as i had a frustrating session with support and my new and shiny OS is operating in a sub-par manner, i am in a bit of a tizzy this morning, to top it off, we are in the middle of a winter storm. so id i choose to be negative, which might have been excusable for a different man in a different time, i could keep going on this litany of the evils in my life this morning.
i will choose to stop that right now, take a moment and plan my day to fit the newest circumstances. dang it i do hate when that happens. so what am i going to do? well for one, save everything that needs to be saved and wipe and reinstall my shiny new OS. fix the issues my clients have, and mostly stay home after my daily run of errands.
oh yeah, shift my focus to what is positive in my life. formatting my disk will get rid of the whatever is hanging it up. reinstalling all of my programs, will get a smaller and more compact system. the winter storm, well if it is wet enough my lawn will look that much better when the snow melts in a few days. now that was not that difficult. so off to do the errands while my file saves go on.

☯ The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao ☯

THE TAO TEH KING, OR THE TAO AND ITS CHARACTERISTICS
by Lao-Tse
Translated by James Legge

Book 1

2) The course and nature of things is such that
What was in front is now behind;
What warmed anon we freezing find.
Strength is of weakness oft the spoil;
The store in ruins mocks our toil. Hence the sage puts away excessive
effort, extravagance, and easy indulgence.
