∞ a daily inventory is a tool i can use to simplify my life ∞

for me, i need to remember that the most complicated part of taking a regular inventory is deciding how to start. this has certainly been a morning. so far i have had to call the furnace repair man, deal with a client’s disabled e-mail account, fade the frustration from a client whose business is failing and still get my normal stuff done, in fact i will be right back, as there is one more task i need to get done before writing this…
okay back at it, and yet another log on the fires that are going on in my life this morning. man it is all of a sudden becoming a day that i will certainly have to pay attention to.
the reading was about monitoring myself with a daily inventory. i wholeheartedly agree with that sentiment. there is a catch however, for me, i need a bit more self-monitoring than a daily inventory. i have found that i need to be present for what is going on right here and right now. especially on days like today, when there is a boatload of stuff going on, much of it very frustrating and none of it beyond my capacity to resolve. it is stand that the only dream i can remember from last night, is one where i kept hearing a disembodied voice saying patience, oops one more fire to resolve BRB
okay i get it, it is time for me to move forward and get some stuff done. i guess running is out of the question this morning, so it goes. life is happening faster than i am used to, so i will just accept it and move on. perhaps an ellptical workout this afternoon will be part of the plan.

2) Therefore when one is making the Tao his business, those who are

manifestation of its course their object agree with him in that; while
even those who are failing in both these things agree with him where
they fail.
