∞  a simple inventory?  ∞
posted: Tue, Jan 18, 2005 06:18:34 AM

this has been exactly one of the big things bugging me about my program lately. somehow my simple 10th step inventory has turned into these long soul-searing dissertations on my day to day behaviors. as a result, i am finding it more than a little inconvenient to write one on a daily basis, and then of course i feel guilty and less-than because i am not doing EVERYTHING i am supposed to.
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
what a trap, i have once again used one of the tools of my recovery program against me and as a result found the rationalization i needed to stop doing something that is a gift and beat myself up over it.
the reading talks about some simple questions and the purpose of the inventory; to get in touch with how i am feeling about the life i am living today! nothing more and certainly nothing less. being the complicated person i am with my amazing magnifying mind, i have turned a once simple exercise into a complex mind-fuck.
well i can change and take a suggestion or two as needed, and this reading provides the guidelines for getting my 10th Step inventory back to its original purpose and form -- A SIMPLE DAILY INVENTORY --
and for this addict it is just what i needed to hear today.
