¡ as a result of years of active addiction ¡
posted: Mon, May 28, 2012 07:00:47 AM

i could not be myself because i did not know who i was anymore. as a result of staying clean, living a program of active recovery that includes step work, i am getting the ability to be myself, because i am starting to KNOW who i am.
as i sit here this morning, thinking about things i need to do, before i head over to BOULDER as well as how things went yesterday, i have a notion or two about who i am. i am certainly not some sort of cookie-cutter recovery joe kind of guy, and when others suggest that i am, it really irks the living sh!t out of me. two addicts at the meeting yesterday, shared about who i should share and while they are certainly entitled to their opinion, i almost smacked them down hard and with extreme prejudice. the fact that i walked away, and let go go it, until right now, is a testimony to the program of this program and how i works it my life. in fact, it was not until i started the juices flowing on this exercise, that i even remembered why i left the meeting with a sort of less than, ripped-off feeling. the fact that i felt disrespected with by the attendance of family members did not make me feel any better, but all of that is in the past, today i am looking forward to some fun, some work and some running my butt off, quite literally.
with that in mind, i will sign-off and the next time you see me, i will have completed 10k and be ready for something entirely different.

2) The sage does not accumulate (for himself). The more that he expends
for others, the more does he possess of his own; the more that he
gives to others, the more does he have himself.
