∞ it must be okay to be who i really am ∞

so when i express myself, or an opinion there is a chance that someone will take it the wrong way or hear what they want to hear and shut out anymore discussion on the topic. well that is exactly where i am today, vacillating between giving in to something i am not quite sure i want to do, just to keep the peace, ignoring the whole situation hoping that it will go away, or stepping-up and saying something. and what exactly does this little bit of turmoil have to do with being myself and being okay with being myself?
just about everything!
the choices i make today right here and right now are based on how i feel about myself and my standing in the world. there are some activities that i have never liked to engage in , but have acquiesced to being a part of them just to keep the peace. and the reading today tells me that i do not have to do that anymore. in the long run i may agree to take part in the activity that i was asked to participate in, but it will because i have a desire, no matter how small, to ba a part of that. i am coming to the understanding that life is far too short to be carried along with the current, i do not have to fight the current, but i can work with the current to get where i want to go. and where i am going today, is a place to where i can find a bit of acceptance in being who i am phobias, dislikes, likes, neuroses, strengths and weaknesses and all.
does acceptance imply happiness? not necessarily, but it does provide the means for me to choose my battles one at a time! and for me, right now i know which battle i need to participate in.
