∞ facing challenges ∞
posted: Fri, May 27, 2005 04:51:30 AM

well it has been one year since i started this blog and i am getting quite used to writing about my feelings and musings everyday. although i started this blog with the intention of writing about a variety of issues it has been about my recovery and how i am doing on a day-today basis and i have left my politics and comments about current events out. i do believe that this has been a useful tool for me and i will continue blogging about my random brain waves.
that being said, among the challenges that i see facing me at least today, is traveling to participate in an event on a level of service that i have not done before. although this is just a prelude to the activities over the next year, i am more than a bit apprehensive about what this weekend will bring.
my fears center around being way over my head, far away from my friends and loved ones, and not quite accepting that i have the ability to do this. i know that whenever i face new people, that i have a tendency to withdraw and isolate. i also realize that when i am out of town that i do not like attending and sharing at meetings where i do not know anyone.
i NEED to find the FAITH to allow GOD to provide me the tools i need to face this challenge and allow myself to walk through my fears, be the person i am and enjoy the challenges ahead of me. i will thrive if i can open my mind to GOD&lsquos will for me today.

☯ The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao ☯

THE TAO TEH KING, OR THE TAO AND ITS CHARACTERISTICS
by Lao-Tse
Translated by James Legge

Book 1

2) We should blunt our sharp points, and unravel the complications
of things; we should attemper our brightness, and bring ourselves
into agreement with the obscurity of others. How pure and still the
Tao is, as if it would ever so continue!
