i must remember that the details of how the fellowship gets things done is not always important. it is in the devil of the details i get hung-up. after all, i know best how to fulfill the primary purpose of my fellowship, do i not????!!
yes i have some wonderful ideas about how to reach to the still sick and suffering addict. and yes i have some excellent thoughts about how to carry the message that an addict, any addict, can stop using, lose the desire to use and find a new way to live. BUT my ideas are not necessarily the best for right here and right now. because of that small damning fact, what is the prudent course for me. is to express my ideas, discuss them with other members of the service body and help the body form a conscience on how to fulfill our primary purpose right now. so be a part of, but not some sort of wooden dummy who nods his head at everything everyone else says. well achieving the balance between being an aggressive advocate for my ideas and a passive dummy subject to the whims of another personality has always been difficult for me. since i am a work in progress. i know that all i have to do, is do my best to be a part of, leave my personality out of the room, and the problems facing my fellowship can be solved. so off to a service meeting to see if i can be a force for unity and creating solutions and not part of the problem!
