OK today's reading finally did it for me
if i want to keep this life, a life beyond my wildest dreams, i have to do the work necessary to continue strengthening the foundation of this new life
Namely:
  • work the steps
  • go to meetings
  • talk to other addicts
  • and do what is suggested by those in the rooms
  • LET GO AND LET MY HIGHER POWER MAKE THE CHANGES

although this seems simple, i feel that most of the time my HP does not have the time to take care of such minor details
there are so many more pressing issues and people who have greater needs than mine
how can an infinite, omnipotent force find the time and have the desire to care for this little piece of flesh?
i forget that the only reason that i am here is that GOD intervened in my LIFE and gave me the chance to become more
i forget (or choose to ignore) the evidence that this force is and has always been active in my life.
i did not die of an overdose (although i tried)
i did not get killed or mugged in the pursuit of my apparent needs
i have been given the chance to start over -- a "do-over" that i never asked for or even dreamed exisisted
what i guess i am saying that the time has come to re-affirm the daily decision to let that force manage all the details of my life and have FAITH that i too am deserving of this gift as long as i do what is needed to maintain it
