⊗ though i may be a complex person, the fellowship offers ⊗

the simplest way for me to make my life less complicated. one of the great things about staying clean (and notice i did not say actively recovering), is i GET to see members sometimes come back after relapses and near death experiences and stay clean and most importantly, actually practice a program of ACTIVE recovery.
DAVID M, 3 YEARS IN A ROW OF ONE DAY AT A TIMES, WAY TO GO MY FRIEND!
from that jumping off point, i can go lots of places. there are days when i like to think of myself as being ever so complex, and being complex makes me different from everyone else, the unique addict as it were, thereby separating myself from the source of the life i am living today.
YES IT IS THE FELLOWSHIP AND THE PROGRAM THAT THEY OFFER THAT IS THE SOURCE OF MY CURRENT LIFE.
after all, it IS that program that introduced me to the divine and the spiritual for the first time in my life. it IS that program that teaches me what was really going on within and without me. it IS that program that connects me to a world from which i can be easily estranged and confused about. most importantly it IS that program that provide the explanation for those crazy thoughts, the bizarre behaviors and general sense of alienation and GIVES me a solution that i can practice in my daily life. ALL JOY FOR THAT PROGRAM and WHERE IS THE KOOL-ADE?
all kidding aside, yes i write like a card carrying member, and am spouting the party line here. this morning, i truly believe all of what i have written above and as corny as it may sound i am grateful for the whole package today, party line and all. how i got here is of little importance to me, BUT as an example to others, i got here by allowing myself to become habituated to doing those things i NEED to do on a daily basis, you know, STEPS ONE through THREE and STEPS TEN through TWELVE. my daily six step program keeps me connected to my cyclical 12 STEP program that those six are a subset on.
as grateful as i am, i need to move forward in daily activity, so i will close with this thought. as complex or as simple as i may think i am Occam's Razor, will always bring me back to this fact, i cannot use drugs without consequences and once i start i may not ever stop, so the easier softer way of living is the PROGRAM to which i ascribe to today.
