... is living in FAITH. well what if do not like what is happening today? this is one of the little things that have bugged me on a very deep level. it seems to say that i have no control over the events that life may throw at me, and i tend to disagree with that assumption. it is true that i may not be able to have any control over things like the weather, or friends and family members getting sick and dying. BUT i do have a modicum of control over the choices i make in my day-to-day living, and hence some control at the events that life presents. i may not like the consequences of my choices after all i can choose to eat myself into weighing five hundred pounds, and suffering the consequences of gross obesity, or i can choose to never leave my house, thus avoiding any auto accidents. most of the events that occur in living are a result of choices i have made either in the here and now or over the course of my life to date. if i want to be able to run a marathon, i need to choose to stop smoking, if i want a job that pays me better than i had better get an education and do the footwork to obtain that job. so you see some of what is happening today -- life‘s little events are the product of how i choose to live -- the consequences of self-will so to speak.
but the reading was not about self-will or will of any type, what it is about for me, after expressing my problem with the whole concept of FAITH, is that if i live in a manner that incorporates FAITH into my life, i can survive whatever events that occur whether they are random occurrences or the results of my self-will. i do need to ask why this is happening and examine whether i have a part in it. if i do have a part, i have to implement the changes necessary to prevent its recurrence, otherwise all i have to is do my best to accept that this is just the way things may be today. living in FAITH does not resolve me of any of my responsibilities by any means. no living in FAITH means that i do my best to make the choices to live my life to the best of my ability today and leave the results up to the POWER THAT KEEPS ME CLEAN AND PROVIDES FOR ALL MY NEEDS. anything less reverts my life back to superstition. i do not want to worry about the consequences of each and every decision i make today but i will accept that much is beyond my power to control and allow that POWER to work in my life today, through FAITH!
