moving into what i heard this morning, i get that passion like desperation can move me forward in my recovery. i am not quite sure if it is passion, habit or obsession that keeps me doing my daily routine of maintenance of my recovery program. it really does not matter, as i know what keeps me clean is my desire to be the sort of person that i can respect, honor and yes even be kind to, even when i do not feel that i deserve it.
two hours later and three teeth yanked out of my mouth, i am back at this. each and every time i change dentists i swear i will not let this stuff happen and yet here i am, due to my previous being unavailable to do routine exams. i could whine and blame, but the reality is, i did not advocate for myself and now… anyhow i am okay with my new dental team and perhaps this will be the “one” that i have been looking for, over the past few years. they actually like my insurance and seem to be welcoming and encouraging of me advocating for myself. time will tell, because that was what i thought of my last dental team.
so where does all of that leave me with passion for my recovery? thinking about where i was a few hours ago and where i am now, i am actually okay with how all of this played out, even if it was not anywhere close to being part of the perfect world. my life in recovery is not going to end because i am not thrilled with the current state of my teeth. i have the resources available to get them fixed and i have the desire to get them done correctly, hence i am not backtracking to any of my previous dental teams. i can and will go to work tonight and be my best given the circumstances, as life in my skin is not at all heinous, despite have three teeth yanked out of my skull, this morning.
